Does Clark Park have the best Basketball Court?

Clark Park is quite a popular spot for playing basketball. It has been brought up whenever I've been a part of a group trying to play basketball. It makes sense, it's a pretty good spot. However, there are still better options. In this post, I'll describe what I like about the court, but also why I don't play there often.

The court is in a nice area inside Clark Park, which has many other spaces for activities like tennis. There are enough trees to give shade on a hot day, and there are always one or two benches near which you can use to rest. It also has two hoops, allowing full-court games. The court has correct markings for the paint, free throw line, and three-point line. However, the court is a bit small, so the three-point line doesn't extend to the corners.

There are still issues with the court. The ground slopes slightly towards one end, and the ground isn't totally even. There are no lights, so playing at night becomes difficult. There isn't anything to stop the ball from rolling away, but the grass usually does a good job of slowing the ball down. My main gripe with the court doesn't actually have anything to do with the court itself. Just down the street from Clark Park, there is another court, which in my opinion is much better. So if I'm going to Clark Park, it's easy to make a small walk to a court I find superior. What court is this? You'll have to wait for my next post to find out, or you could just look at a map.

Ranking:

  1. Clark Park
  2. Blair Park
