Does South Side Elementary School Have The Best Basketball Court
If you read my last blog post, you'll know I hinted at a court near Clark Park which I think is superior to the one in Clark Park. This court is at South Side Elementary School. I have gone to this court more often than any other court when playing basketball with friends. I will explain why I like this court so much in this blog, along with some of its downfalls.
The court is found behind South Side Elementary School along with a playground beyond the court. The court has 4 hoops allowing many people to play at once. Something special to note, the court is not very popular so you almost always have 2 hoops to play at. The hoops themselves are all regular 10-foot rims. All around the court is grass, and with the school being next to the court, you won't usually have to run far to get your ball if it rolls away. The ground of the court itself is made out of tiles, and they are all pretty even. The school often provides shade from the sun, and parking is always easy with a huge lot next to it. However, the court is not perfect. There are no markings for the paint, free throw line, or 3-point line. Another downfall is that the hoops are not very rigid and can wiggle a lot.
Ranking:
South Side has become my go-to spot for basketball with others. It should be no surprise that it tops my ranking, but maybe another court will come by that can do better next week.
