Is the Mullikin Park Basketball Court the Best?
I haven't gone to Mullikin Park too much, but I still wanted to take this post to talk about my thoughts on it. In many ways, the Mullikin Park basketball court is similar to the Blair Park Court. I don't want to reiterate everything I said about Blair Park, so I'm going to use this post to compare the Mullikin Park and Blair Park courts.
This time instead of having little space behind the 3-point line, there is none at all. You could still step into the grass if you want to, but It would be nicer if the court were extended. Mullikin still has markings for the paint and free-throw line. Both courts have nothing other than grass to stop the ball from rolling away, but at least this time the playground is farther away, so you won't have to worry about hitting kids. On the other hand, Mullikin park has a large tree with needles going to the ground next to the court. There is a small chance that your ball may go into the tree, which can become frustrating to retrieve. Neither court will give you much shade, and both have a bench nearby if you want it. For the hoops, Mullikin has a double rim, the same as in Blair Park. Supposedly you can change the height of the rim, but in my attempts, it hasn't been possible
Ranking:
The Mullikin Park court is not horrible, and it will make do if you want to play on it, but it just does not stack up to its competition. With all of its similarities to the Blair Park Court, it's going to end up beside it in the ranking. While it is up to anyone's opinion, I'm going to put Blair Park slightly above Mullikin. The main reason is the lack of space behind the 3-point line at Mullikin.
